Summary: Man is lost, but significant.
- Man was made in the image of God and is therefore wonderful.
- Man has sinned and is totally lost.
- Man can and does influence history for either good or evil in this life and the life to come.
Modern View of Man (in contrast)
Summary: Man is subject to some sort of Determinism.
- Chemical
- Psychological (emphasized by Freud)
- Environmental
Man no more than a part of a comic machine and therefore not responsible for what he is or what he does.
