But first remember:
What propels, what sustains, is the living Christ Jesus. “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” (Gal. 2:20). So the Christian life is not simply following principles but being empowered to fulfill our purpose: knowing and exalting Christ. However, biblical principles do give us a strategy, a blueprint, for achieving that goal.

- Focus on our ultimate by choosing the ultimate over the immediate.
The good can be an obstacle to the best. Something immediate is always pressing us to postpone the more important for the more urgent. While these things may be good and necessary, they sidetrack us and cause us to lose momentum for growing in our relationship with God. - Grow in sanctification.
Learn to live set apart for the LORD, not in perfectionism, but by honest examination of my life. Remove the things that are hindering me from living a holy, Christlike life so I might experience God’s prevailing grace. Take an inventory of your spiritual weaknesses:- By the Word of God (John 17:17)
- By the peace of God (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
- By sexual purity (1 Thessalonians 4:3-4)
- By total submission to the will of God (Romans 12:1-2)
- By maintaining a clear conscience (1 Peter 3:15-16)
- By pursuing holiness (Hebrews 12:14)
