I say, then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 CSB
"Just one thing: As citizens of heaven, live your life worthy of the gospel of Christ." Philippians 1:27a CSB
Therefore, my dear friends, ... work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who is working in you both to will and to work according to his good purpose. Philippians 2:12-13 CSB
Do everything without grumbling and arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world, by holding firm to the word of life." Philippians 2:13-16 CSB
May I consider the members of my earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming, and in them I once walked when I lived in them. (based on Colossians 3:5–7)
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5:18 CSB
BE SLOW TO ANGER
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
(Proverbs 16:32)
In my anger I will not sin;
I will not let the sun go down while I am still angry,
and I will not give the devil a foothold.
(Ephesians 4:26–27)
What to focus on:
I have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that I might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that I might bear fruit to God. But now, by dying to what once bound me, I have been released from the law so that I serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter. (based on Romans 7:4, 6)
Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—I will think about such things. The things I have learned and received and heard and seen in those who walk with Christ I will practice, and the God of peace will be with me. (Philippians 4:8–9)
An example to be seen
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty?[b] It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-16
