Dr. John R. Rice often spoke of the hindrances to prayer:
- Personal sin in the believer’s life.
- Known strain in relationship between husband and wife.
- Unreconciled wrongs, debts, or offenses between Christian brothers and sisters.
- An unforgiving or bitter spirit.
- Covetousness.
- Neglect or indifference to the Word of God.
- Prayerlessness itself.
Sadly, most hindrances are of our own making. Repent of any hindrances that may be present and commit to renewal in the area of personal prayer.
